Tug: constant indecision on which “side” to go on

- Born in South Asia and Muslim so collective ideology by studied and worked in Canada so individualistic experiences and successes
- Have common experiences and opinions with North Americans but resist the temptation to identify with North Americans because “that would be too colonized of a mentality”
- Anecdote that summarizes how I feel: while on the ship trip back from Tanna, I was asked by a 5 or 6 year old: “mama blo yu I blak? O daddy blo yu I blak?”  is your mom Ni-Van? Or is your dad Ni-Van?
